Welcome to Cal AI ("the App"), an AI-assisted nutrition and calorie tracking mobile application developed and operated by Cyborgate ("we," "us," or "our"). Cal AI empowers users to track daily meals, log workouts and water intake, analyze macronutrients with computer vision, set health milestones, and visualize nutritional trends.

We take your personal and health privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect, how it is processed and secured, how third-party services interact with your data, and the rights you retain under applicable data protection laws, including the UK Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR, EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and Apple App Store Review Guidelines.

By downloading, installing, or utilizing Cal AI, you acknowledge and agree to the data collection and processing practices described herein. If you disagree with this policy, please uninstall and discontinue using the App. Your use is also governed by our Terms of Service (EULA).

Summary of Core Data Practices

• On-Device Storage First: Your meal history, daily calories, macronutrient targets, water logs, weight checkpoints, custom recipes, and streaks are stored locally on your device for immediate, offline-capable performance.
• AI Photo & Voice Analysis: When you snap a meal photo, scan a barcode, or record a voice meal log, the media is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to our AI vision inference service solely to detect food items, estimate portion sizes, and calculate calories and macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat).
• No Sale of Personal Data: We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade your food logs, photos, body metrics, or personal identity to data brokers or third-party advertisers.
• Account Authentication: If you sign in via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we process authentication tokens securely through Firebase Authentication. You may also utilize the app without signing into a cloud account.
• Apple HealthKit (Optional): If you grant permission, Cal AI can read and write active energy and dietary energy to Apple HealthKit. HealthKit data is never shared for advertising or marketing purposes.
• In-App Purchases: Subscriptions (Monthly, Yearly with 7-Day Free Trial, Lifetime) are handled directly by Apple StoreKit. We never see or store your payment card numbers.

Information We Collect

Depending on your usage of Cal AI features, we may collect and process:

• Nutritional & Meal Data: Food names, estimated and logged calories, macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fats), fiber, sugar, sodium, meal timestamps, and meal category classifications (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks).
• Media & Sensor Inputs: Photographs taken via the in-app camera or uploaded from your photo library for AI nutrition scanning, and audio recorded for voice meal logging.
• Physical & Health Biometrics (User-Provided): Age, gender, height, current body weight, goal weight, target calorie/macro goals, and activity level used to calculate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
• Hydration & Exercise Logs: Daily water intake fluid ounces/milliliters, workout duration, activity type, and estimated active calories burned.
• Account Identifiers: Unique User ID (UID), display name, and email address provided through Apple ID or Google Auth when cloud sync is enabled.
• Technical & Diagnostic Data: Device model, iOS version, application version, crash logs, and anonymized performance metrics to ensure stability and debug errors.

How We Use Your Information

We process collected data exclusively for legitimate operational and user-requested purposes:

• To extract food items and compute nutritional values using computer vision algorithms.
• To track daily calorie deficits/surpluses, streak badges, and progress milestones.
• To synchronize your logged meals across multiple devices when signed in.
• To verify In-App Purchase entitlements (Cal AI Pro membership status).
• To export clinical nutritional PDF reports upon your request for healthcare providers.
• To respond to customer support inquiries, bug reports, and feedback submitted to contact@cyborgate.uk.
• To safeguard against fraudulent exploitation and maintain technical infrastructure integrity.

AI Vision & Image Processing Policy

When utilizing the AI Camera Scan feature, your food image is transmitted securely via TLS/HTTPS encryption to our AI inference pipeline. The image is analyzed in real time to classify ingredients, recognize branded foods, and estimate nutritional quantities.

Images submitted for analysis are not utilized to train public, third-party generative models without anonymization, nor are they used for commercial advertising profiling. Temporary server-side image buffers are discarded promptly following inference completion.

Apple HealthKit Integration

Cal AI offers optional integration with Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS devices. If enabled by the user in App Settings:

• Cal AI may write dietary calories and macro data to Apple Health.
• Cal AI may read active energy burned and step counts to calculate net remaining calories.
• HealthKit Strict Safeguard: In compliance with Apple Developer Program Guidelines, data obtained from HealthKit is never shared with third parties for advertising, marketing, or data mining purposes.

Third-Party Service Providers

We partner with industry-leading infrastructure providers under strict confidentiality agreements:

• Apple Inc. (App Store & StoreKit): Application hosting, distribution, subscription billing, and Sign in with Apple authentication.
• Google LLC (Firebase): Firebase Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database for optional multi-device profile synchronization.
• AI Computer Vision Pipeline: Secure backend API inference nodes for fast meal recognition and macro computation.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Cal AI offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (Monthly, Yearly with 7-Day Free Trial) and a Lifetime purchase. Financial transactions are conducted entirely through the Apple App Store. Cyborgate does not process or retain payment credentials.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is disabled at least 24 hours before the conclusion of the active billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

Data Retention, Security & Deletion Rights

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including HTTPS encryption in transit and secure database rules) to safeguard your data.

Your Rights: You have the right to request access to, correction of, or permanent deletion of your personal data at any time. You can delete your account and associated cloud records directly within the App under Profile > Personal Details > Delete Account, or by emailing us at contact@cyborgate.uk.

Children's Privacy

Cal AI is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a minor under the minimum legal age has provided personal data without parental consent, we will promptly delete such records.
